Fifty Rudras

That Shiva is both one and many at the same time. There is both the one Rudra, as well as the many Rudras. The Rudra of all Rudras is Shiva-Shankara, the supreme Lord. From various Vedic lists, we know of 11 Rudras, whose names vary depending on source. Similarly, in the Shaiva Agamas, lists of Rudras are to be found. In the Makutagama, one of the 28 Siddhanta Agamas of the Rudra-bheda sub-catagory, we find a list of 50 Rudras mentioned:
